Cambridgeshire and District Law Society was founded in 1871, which makes it one of the oldest local law societies in the Eastern Region.
The Society is run by a Committee, with a President and Vice President elected from the Membership each year. In recent times they, along with an Honorary Treasurer, oversee the work of a part-time employed Administrator.
In 1898, the Society commissioned a Badge of Office to commemorate the appointment of a local solicitor, C. Berkeley-Margetts of Huntingdon, as President of the National Law Society.
